How to Get Unstuck
It's time to access your dark feminine
Tired of being stuck?
Stuckness is a sign that we are avoiding a deep truth that would rise to the surface if we risked movement. This is a clever trick we play on ourselves; convince ourselves that we’re powerless and there’s nothing that we can do to change our circumstances - the result? Stagnancy.
Ask yourself, where in your life is stagnancy working for you? Where in your life are staying small in order to avoid meeting yourself and allowing the pulse of life to flow through you?
Life is chaotic. It spares no one. It presses us to our limits so that we can evolve; trying to stop this flow results in a nasty kind of torment - one where energy is spent suppressing life force rather than flowing with it for fear of what might happen if we allow it to move through us.
I spent most of my life in a state of suppression. It started with my religious upbringing, but I carried the torch after leaving home. It’s taken me decades to dismantle the structures that I inherited that have kept me small, nice and good. Slowly, brick by brick I have been collapsing the egoic shell that I thought was me; what’s left behind is a wild, fierce, playful, messy force that is hungry for the life she’s historically pushed away.
I want power, ecstasy, eros. I want to be greedy and live a big life. I want to experience more.
Nice girls aren’t supposed to want more. We’re supposed to be grateful, happy, sweet - like a light summer breeze that is barely noticed but always enjoyed. The woman I am becoming is a storm. She rages, she lusts, she asks for what she wants, and she leaves a wake of upturned roots behind her. She is gleeful in her disruption of the systems; she wants to break down rigid dogma for collective liberation.
There has been a very concerted effort to squash out this archetype, “the dark feminine”. She is a threat to the systems of oppression that keep women and other marginalized people small, stuck and afraid. (Look up The Morrigan, Lilith, and Hecate to explore this archetype.)
When we embody these parts of ourselves that have been denied, our energy, eros, and aliveness comes online. We step into our power and our light turns on - a light that acts as a beacon for others to do the same.
This work is personal and collective. You have no idea what the ripple effect will be when you take one brave step, and then another - moving towards liberation.
Do it for yourself. Do it for the people you love. Do it for humanity.
Someone needs to go first - if not you then who?
If something in these words lights you up, I invite you to lean in. Honestly explore the following questions; get real with your answers.
Where in your life are you playing small and suppressing your desire for more? (Think pleasure, self expression, money, power, eros, creativity, etc.)
What are you going to do about it?
I would love to hear your answers to these questions; comment, DM or email me. Let’s forge this path of liberation together.
